Psalm 27:1-14

Chapter 27
Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; whom shall I be afraid? 1 In the midst of me, evil ones are against me to eat my flesh—my foes and my enemies to me—they—they stumbled and fell. 2 When a camp encamps against me, my heart will not fear. When war rises against me, in this I trust. 3 One thing I have asked from the LORD, it I seek: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the pleasantness of the LORD and to visit in his temple. 4 For he will hide me in a shelter on the day of evil; he will conceal me in the secret place of his tent; he will set me high upon a rock. 5 And now he will lift up my head above my enemies around me. And I will sacrifice in his tent sacrifices of shout. I will sing and I will sing praise to the LORD. 6 Hear, LORD, my voice as I call, and be gracious to me and answer me. And now my head will be lifted high above my enemies around me, and I will sacrifice in his tent sacrifices with a shout; I will sing and I will sing praise to the LORD. 7 My heart said to you, "Seek my face." Your face, LORD, I will seek. 8 My heart said to you, "Seek my face." Your face, LORD, I will seek. 9 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will gather me in. 10 For my father and my mother forsook me, but the LORD will gather me. 11 Teach me, O LORD, your way, and guide me on a level path because of my oppressors. Do not give me over to the soul of my foes, for they have risen against me as witnesses of falsehood and breathe out violence. 12 Do not give me to the soul of my adversaries, for they have risen against me as false witnesses, and he breathes violence. 13 Hope in the LORD. Strengthen yourself and let your heart be strong, and hope in the LORD.
